Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija alum, Neo Akpofure, has weighed in on the ongoing debate about whether men should kneel when proposing marriage.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Neo made it clear that he has no problem kneeling before the woman he intends to marry. He described her as his “God-given helper” and the one who will carry his future generations, adding that kneeling is not begging but a sign of honor and commitment.
Neo dismissed critics who see the act as unnecessary or demeaning, saying:
“I will gladly kneel before the woman I will ask to marry me! If it looks like begging to you, IDC! That’s my helper God gave me, the one who will bring forth my generations to come. Everyone just setting ridiculous standards these days y’all enjoy.”His comment comes amid heated debates online, especially after a lady recently rejected a proposal because her man refused to kneel. While some argue kneeling is outdated, others insist it remains an important gesture of love and humility.
