The first runner-up in the recently concluded Big Brother Naija Season 10, Dede Ashiogwu, has described her experience on the reality TV show as intense and enlightening.
Known for her calm composure and authenticity, Dede told Sunday Scoop that she is still processing everything that happened during her time in the house.
She said, “I have been trying to internalize everything and make sure to breathe at the same time. It wasn’t an easy journey for me, but at the same time, I feel good.”
Unlike some of her fellow housemates who entered the show with elaborate strategies, Dede said she went in with no concrete plan. “I didn’t go with any plan. I just lived and took every day as it came in the house,” she explained.
While some viewers perceived her calm and calculated nature as a strategy, Dede said she wasn’t bothered by such opinions.
“No, it was a game. We all played the game. Some of us lived through it, and some played it like an actual game. But it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a game. Calculation is good,” she noted.

The reality star also admitted that there were times she struggled with her emotions while in the house. “Yes, I feel it is very normal if you are inside the house. But being able to snap out of it is all that really matters,” she said.
Reacting to divided opinions about her runner-up position, Dede maintained a gracious attitude while drumming support for Imisi, who won.
“I have nothing to say. As long as we stepped our feet into the house, we are all winners. Also, she (Imisi) deserved it, and I don’t think it would have gone any other way,” she said.
On how prepared she is to face life in the spotlight, she admitted that she is still learning the ropes. “I am not fully prepared, especially since I have never been here before. I am ready to learn and navigate things. The sky is big enough for everyone to thrive. I will stand out regardless. I am Dede, and every other person is who they are. I am sure we can all make it work,” she said confidently.
When asked to describe who “Dede” truly was before the show, she replied, “She was calm, real, and authentic and she still is. The only difference is that I have learnt more.”
Despite the fame and scrutiny that come with being a public figure, Dede insists on maintaining her simplicity and peace of mind. “I like it because we don’t have to be chaotic all the time,” she stated.
