Manchester United Appoints Ruben Amorim as Head Coach

Ruben Amorim

Manchester United recently appointed Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, following the departure of Erik ten Hag due to the team’s challenging start this season.

Ruben Amorim, who comes from Sporting CP, is highly regarded for his tactical skills and success in Portuguese football.

Manchester United paid around €11 million (£9.25 million) to release Amorim from his Sporting contract, which runs through to 2027.

Amorim’s first match in charge of Manchester United will be a Premier League game against Ipswich Town and a Europa League home match against Bodo/Glimt.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, who served as Ten Hag's assistant, will remain in a caretaker role for the next few games until Amorim officially steps in.
